When Opiate Rehab Seems to be Needed

An addiction to opiates may require that patients to seek professional help. Sometimes an opiate rehab center is not was is indicated or the right fit for the individual.  Opiates include heroin or prescription painkillers such as OxyContin , Vicodin and Percocet , these narcotic medications have the tendency to be addictive with regular or prolonged use. Addiction can develop relatively quickly, often taking patients by surprise. For many people, legitimate and regular use can cause the body to become used to the medication.
Once a tolerance has developed, the drug’s effects are diminished and more and more needs to be taken to achieve desired effects. Addiction can take hold quickly and can be physical and/or psychological in nature. So many treatment options are available to treat opiate addiction. Opiate rehab is a general term for the many medical and psychotherapeutic treatments used to rid patients of their addictions to opiates. Opiate rehabilitation is necessary in order for patients to recover safely and avoid further legal, personal, societal and financial consequences. Withdrawal is a set of symptoms that develops once use is abruptly stopped or gradually discontinued. Many people fear withdrawal and delay seeking help. The right opiate rehab will address a painful withdrawal by managing it.

Many Treatment Options are Available

Opiate rehabs can be long-term or short-term in nature and may be in-patient or out-patient. Support groups, sober houses and extended care facilities are also available. There are many kinds of opiate rehabs and many programs try to achieve sobriety through various means including 12-step programs, faith-based initiatives, psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy.
Opiate rehab can be court-mandated to help small-time offenders avoid incarceration and get the help they need. Many people decide to seek opiate rehab on their own once they realize their use of opiates has spiraled out of control. The Waismann Method has offered expert opiate rehab for more than a decade. The differences between our approach and other detox and rehab programs are vast.

When Opiate Rehab is not the Answer

The Waismann Method of rapid detox has successfully treated opiate addiction without opiate substitutes like Suboxone and methadone. In the majority of our patients, addiction developed after legitimate pain prompted a prescription from a medical professional. Our program includes a number of options for opiate in-hospital detoxification, some uses medication to cleanse drugs like Demerol and Dilaudid from patients’ opiate receptors while the patient is under sedation and other methods uses a slower approach. All options offer a comfortable and private forms treatment instead of the traditional opiate rehab.
The rapid detox under sedation option takes less than two hours. Patients rest comfortably while under sedation and awake without the conscious awareness of the withdrawal symptoms that have occurred . We also offer continued care for a few days, at Domus Retreat through the transitional and regulation phase.
Our programs are safe, effective and very private. With the Waismann Method, patients can rest assured they will receive the most comprehensive, medically-based opiate detox.
